Ellis (Chevy Chase, Maryland), 6 1/4 x 8 1/8 inches tall stapled paperbound in tan printed covers, illustrated with map, 64 pp. Very slight soiling and slight creasing and edgewear to covers, with a couple of tiny edge tears. Inside, slight tearing along the lower staple at the spine, and a gift inscription to a former owner from a family member to the top margin of the title page. Correction to a date with source notations to the lower margin of one page. Otherwise, a very good copy - clean, bright and unmarked - of this scarce genealogy. ~LLL~ [0.5P] James Ellis (1758-1817) was born in Albany County, New York, and served in the Revolutionary War. He moved to New Jersey and then to Shelby County, Tennessee, where he married Sarah Riggs in 1780. They lived in Jefferson County and then in Lincoln County, Tennessee. Clyde Taylor Ellis (b.1908) was born in Arkansas, served as a representative in Washington, and settled at Chevy Chase, Maryland. Descendants and relatives of James lived in New York, Tennessee, Arkansas, Washington, D.C., California and elsewhere.
