Neuware - 'The Elf of Discontent and Other Plays' is an engaging collection of dramatic works by Rita Benton, a prominent voice in the development of early 20th-century children's theater. This volume features a selection of imaginative scripts designed for performance, blending folklore, whimsy, and moral lessons into accessible stage productions. The title work, 'The Elf of Discontent,' anchors a series of plays that emphasize character development and creative storytelling, making them particularly well-suited for youth ensembles and educational settings.Benton's writing reflects the vibrant spirit of 1920s American drama, focusing on themes that remain relevant to young audiences today, such as gratitude, social harmony, and the wonders of the natural world. As a significant contribution to the history of juvenile literature and performance, 'The Elf of Discontent and Other Plays' serves as both a historical record of pedagogical theater and a delightful treasury of stories meant to be brought to life on the stage.
