This handbook has been designed to help students understand how electronic circuits work. It provides the basic knowledge necessary to appreciate the operation of a wide range of basic electronic circuits including amplifiers, logic gates, power supplies, timers and pulse generators. The coverage is suitable for students on BTEC First, National or Diploma, City and Guilds, NVQ levels II/III, GCSE or A level courses, or starting a degree, and is equally well suited to those who may be returning to study or who may be studying independently. Worked examples have been liberally included within the text to show how simple numerical problems related to basic circuit design are solved. A number of problems can also be found at the end of each chapter. These can be used not only to check understanding of the text but also to give some experience of typical "short answer" questions used in course assessments. The book assumes little previous knowledge. High school mathematics will provide all the skills needed to follow this straightforward introduction.
