What happens when the perfect life you’ve built becomes the biggest cage of all?
Facundo has it all: he’s handsome, successful, and about to finish medical school. Yet his life is a farce. Trapped in a relationship that doesn’t fulfill him and living only to meet other people’s expectations, he longs for a simple existence, far from fame and pressure. But there’s a dark secret in his soul, a desire he refuses to accept, condemning him to a life of solitude and resignation.
Xavier is the biggest pop star of the moment. As the leader of the successful band Vortex, he’s adored by thousands of fans. However, fame comes at a price. He lives under the shadow of his parents’ exploitation, who see him as nothing more than a wallet for their whims. Exhausted and frustrated, he longs only for a place where he can truly be himself.
Their paths cross one night in the elevator of an apartment building—an accidental encounter between a man seeking escape and another who, unknowingly, has become a star. Facundo, drunk and on the verge of collapse, finds unexpected comfort in his new neighbor. What begins as a simple act of help turns into a deep connection that heals both their wounds.
But what will happen when Facundo discovers the truth? Can two souls, tormented by the pressures of their opposite worlds, find a safe heaven on the eighth floor?
“ON THE EIGHTH C ” is a story about love, secrets, and the courage to be yourself. A novel about how, sometimes, the person you think you need the least is the only one who can save you.
