Collecting the "Pellucidar" and "At the Earth's Core" comic stories that originally appeared in DC Comics' Weird Worlds, this volume takes readers along for the journey as explorers descend to the land of Pellucidar, located at the center of the earth. In a story originally conceived of by Edgar Rice Burroughs, our explorers find a land inhabited by prehistoric reptiles, strange creatures, and beings enacting dark rituals. But most importantly, they discover the beautiful Dian, Queen of Pellucidar, who captures their hearts and leads them on a wild adventure to aid her and win her trust.

Soft cover. Condición: Very Good. No Jacket. Illustrated by Frank Hoban Ilustrador. 1st Edition. An uncommon issue of the mostly-fiction magazine, in "very good" condition with cover illustration (Tarzan draws his bow on a snarling tiger) still bright. Some fraying to fore-edge of the front wrap where it overhangs the text block, as usual. Large octavo (6-7/8 X 9-7/8 inches.) The first 10 chapters of the Tarzan adventure occupy 21 ad-free pages of this issue, said pages moderately age-toned but still flexible and easily read, well illustrated with depictions of the adventurers' predictable encounters with outsized prehistoric beasts . . . and tigers, for some reason. Full-color back page ad for Lucky Strikes (in original green-and-red pack), illustrated by Winsor McCay, compares smoking to adopting "sensible modern swimming attire," declaring men and women can both now sensibly smoke with "No Throat Irritation - No Cough" because "It's toasted." (There is a 1-inch by 1/4-inch scrape to edge of this ad, please see scan.) Other fiction by Rollin Brown, Harold Titus, Robert Winchester (Texas Rangers), Charles V. Brereton (loyal sheep dogs), Lemuel De Bra ("The Dedham Mansion Case"), etc. 200 pp., reduced from $250. Nº de ref. del artículo: 010682
