Matthu is the debut short story collection by Geetha Mohan-twenty-two tender, unfiltered glimpses into everyday life. These stories do not rely on ornate language or dramatic

twists; instead, they unfold with quiet strength, touching on love, longing, friendship, and family in their rawest, most relatable forms. With no grand entrances or elaborate introductions, the characters step straight into the reader's world-familiar, flawed, and deeply human. Each story feels like a moment witnessed from the window next door-so close, so real, and so stirring.

Translated with care and emotional fidelity by Seema Pradeep, Matthu retains the heartbeat of its original Malayalam essence. It is not just a book you read-it's a world you find yourself in, again and again.

Geetha Mohan, daughter of Mr. K.P. Krishnan (LIC of India) and Mrs. Lakshmikutty, hails from Payyanur in the Kannur district of Kerala.
