Earthquake Risks Mitigation- A stakeholder’s Approach is a research and application-orientated approach designed to cater for a wider range of users residing in seismically active communities. This book is based on a doctoral research that focused on a holistic perspective incorporating the social, cultural, economic, regulatory, institutional and political realms, for managing earthquake risks. This book provides detailed and current information on methods of managing earthquake risks, including; knowledge on a range of factors that may affect earthquake risk mitigation decisions; insights on how different stakeholders’ practices influence earthquake seismic mitigation decisions; and examples of relevant incentives and motivators for managing earthquake risks. This book prepares stakeholders involved in managing earthquake risks such as property owners, earthquake hazard and disaster managers, local councils, professionals and consultants involved in earthquake risk mitigation, and managers of insurance, financial and governmental organisations with broad knowledge and information for reducing earthquake vulnerability within their communities

Acerca del autor: Dr. Temitope Egbelakin is a lecturer at the School of Engineering and Advanced Technology, Massey University, New Zealand. She has been involved in active research in earthquake risk and disaster management in New Zealand. Temitope has served as a consultant in several organisations and has published widely in international refereed journals.
