Large 8vo. This is a new edition with Ardizzone illustrations. .219 pages. 1st edition. Bound in red cloth with gilt lettering on spine and a small design on front cover. Dust wrapper is not clipped, slightly frayed at head and bottom of spine, else very good. . Illustrated with ten colour and black and white illustrations by Edward Ardizzone. Endpapers also designed by Ardizzone, with a former owners name and address. On verso of front loose endpaper is the Surrealist bookplate of Andrew Murray. Endpaper s a little foxed, else very good copy. Size 22 x 15cm (8.75 x 6 inches) Provenance: Andrew Murray, Director of Mayor Gallery, Cork Street, London. The Mayor Gallery exhibited Ardizzone s work in the 1960 s . Andrew Murray lent his personal collection of books and prints etc. to the travelling exhibition by Middlesbrough Museum in 1982.
