When Dad's drone catches a sudden gust and disappears into the towering pines, Gid is determined to get it back. But climbing after it could turn a small mistake into a much bigger problem. With Axo's clever advice, June's sharp observations, a little help from friends, and a skilled park worker, Gid discovers that solving a problem is not always about taking the fastest route. Sometimes the bravest choice is knowing when to stop, think, and stay safe. With adventure, laughter, technology, and a surprising final lesson, The Drone in the Pine turns one runaway drone into an unforgettable day.

Leo Hayes believes childhood should be filled with curiosity, imagination, laughter, and plenty of color. He loves children's books because a few pages can open the door to an entirely new world-and sometimes inspire a child to ask a very big question.

Leo enjoys creating stories where kids can laugh, explore, make mistakes, solve problems, and discover something new along the way. He especially loves the colorful world of children's books, where technology, friendship, adventure, and imagination can all come together.

When he isn't writing, Leo is usually dreaming up another adventure for curious young readers.
