Paperback. Jasmine Swift has spent three years building a life that looks entirely put together. A crime reporter in New Orleans, she works long hours, keeps a tidy house, and tells everyone, including herself, that she is fine. When a hard week finally catches up with her, she books a five day cruise into the Gulf of Mexico, choosing the cheaper shared cabin over a private one to save money. The stranger she is paired with turns out to be Avice Parker, the photographer she divorced three years ago.Every cabin on the ship is booked, with no way to separate them and no way home before the ship returns. Over five days at sea, old habits resurface faster than either of them expects: the coffee order neither had to ask about, the argument that was never really about dishes, the specific quiet that settles between two people who once knew each other completely. The real story of their marriage comes into focus, and there was no betrayal in it. As Avice puts it, remembering the anniversary they both quietly missed without telling each other: "We didn't fight about it because neither one of us noticed the other one wasn't there either. That's not a bad night, Jasmine. That's a whole marriage."On a boat with nothing else pulling at either of them, they finally have the one thing they never had enough of the first time. Whether that is enough is the only question left. This item is printed on demand. Shipping may be from our UK warehouse or from our Australian or US warehouses, depending on stock availability.…
