Dr. B. Waine Kong, 83, is a passionate retired healthcare executive, educator, and author based in Thomaston, Georgia. Originally from Jamaica, he moved to the United States in 1959 and has since traveled to all 50 states and 107 countries.He holds multiple advanced degrees, including a Ph.D. and J.D., and served for 21 years as CEO of the Association of Black Cardiologists, where he dedicated his career to advancing health equity and education.Now retired, Dr. Kong enjoys golfing, swimming, writing, and spending time with his wife, Dr. Stephanie Kong. Dr. Basil Waine Kong is a passionate storyteller and lifelong learner, he has authored five books and contributes a weekly column to the Upson County Beacon.
Dr. Akram Elamaari is a licensed pediatrician in Georgia, born in St. Louis, Missouri. He earned his medical degree from the University of Al-Fateh in Libya in 2005 and completed his pediatric residency at Tripoli Medical Center in 2009. Recognized for his academic excellence, he was awarded a full scholarship to continue his medical training in the United States.Dr. Elamaari went on to complete pediatric residencies at New York Methodist Hospital and the Medical Center of Central Georgia, gaining valuable experience working with diverse patient populations across both regions.Dedicated to children's health and well-being, Dr. Elamaari continues to combine his global medical background with compassionate care for families in Georgia.
