During those early days of coaching, I searched everywhere for a book that carefully explained the techniques behind skating. It was hard for me to remember the basics. I wanted to be more specific about where a skater should press on the blade, how to teach jump rotation, increase speed, etc.

This is the book I wanted but couldn’t find when I started my coaching career.
This book is a resource for the skater who wants to transition from being an athlete to being a coach or the skater who wants to learn more about the sport of figure skating.

Read this book if you want to learn:

• new jump drills

• basic skating skills technique and tools to improve

• details about how jumps work

• details about how spins work

• new jump drills

• facts about skating elements and how they are broken down

• general skating information about competitions, boots, blades, practice, off-ice training, mindset and more
