Paperback. FROM VALUATION TO DIAMOND COMPANIESDiscounted Cash Flow (DCF) is the gold standard for business valuation. Investors like Warren Buffett have insisted that a business's value is understood through its ability to generate cash. However, DCF is only as reliable as the assumptions underpinning its projections.Diamond Theory was born to reinforce that critical point. It connects valuation and strategy through a structured framework that explains which factors generate value and how they interact with each other. It identifies five Forces of Value and four Zones of Value; crossing them yields the Diamond Matrix, with its 20 key factors to analyze, measure, and manage business value. From this logic emerges the concept of Diamond Companies: organizations that excel in the 20 value factors and, therefore, generate higher, more stable, and sustainable cash flows over time.WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE WITH THIS BOOKValue companies using the DCF method: understand the most widely used and rigorous valuation formula to estimate the real value of a business.Understand value as a system: not as an isolated number, but as a combination of interconnected levers.Build more defensible DCF assumptions: project revenue, margins, investment, and working capital based on real business factors.Activate value creation levers: identify concrete operational decisions (pricing, mix, contracts, supply, working capital, CAPEX, etc.) that increase value.Measure with specific KPIs: each factor includes metrics to track progress, evidence improvements, and sustain professional conversations about value.Connect strategy and finance: clearly see how what you decide today impacts cash, risk, and defensible growth.A PRACTICAL APPROACH, NOT JUST CONCEPTUALBeyond the framework, you will get an actionable methodology: direct impact on Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), an inventory of management levers, and a Diagnostic Appendix with templates to assess the maturity of the 20 factors and prioritize a value creation plan.WHO IS THIS BOOK FOR?Investors, analysts, and M&A professionals who need a common language to defend assumptions, negotiate, and justify valuation ranges.Business owners and executives seeking a clear compass to govern the company with a value-creation orientation.Consultants and advisors requiring a solid framework for diagnosis, prioritization, and strategic planning.Students and MBA/Business/Economics profiles who want to understand business value from a systemic and modern perspective. If you want to stop guessing value and start managing it with precision, this book gives you the method. FROM VALUATION TO DIAMOND COMPANIES
Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) is the gold standard for business valuation. Investors like Warren Buffett have insisted that a business’s value is understood through its ability to generate cash. However, DCF is only as reliable as the assumptions underpinning its projections.
Diamond Theory was born to reinforce that critical point. It connects valuation and strategy through a structured framework that explains which factors generate value and how they interact with each other. It identifies five Forces of Value and four Zones of Value; crossing them yields the Diamond Matrix, with its 20 key factors to analyze, measure, and manage business value.
From this logic emerges the concept of Diamond Companies: organizations that excel in the 20 value factors and, therefore, generate higher, more stable, and sustainable cash flows over time.
WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE WITH THIS BOOK
- Value companies using the DCF method: understand the most widely used and rigorous valuation formula to estimate the real value of a business.
- Understand value as a system: not as an isolated number, but as a combination of interconnected levers.
- Build more defensible DCF assumptions: project revenue, margins, investment, and working capital based on real business factors.
- Activate value creation levers: identify concrete operational decisions (pricing, mix, contracts, supply, working capital, CAPEX, etc.) that increase value.
- Measure with specific KPIs: each factor includes metrics to track progress, evidence improvements, and sustain professional conversations about value.
- Connect strategy and finance: clearly see how what you decide today impacts cash, risk, and defensible growth.
A PRACTICAL APPROACH, NOT JUST CONCEPTUAL
Beyond the framework, you will get an actionable methodology: direct impact on Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), an inventory of management levers, and a Diagnostic Appendix with templates to assess the maturity of the 20 factors and prioritize a value creation plan.
