A History of the Second World War (UK Civil Series) publication. This one features in the Studies in Government and Industrial Organisation part of the series. According to the Preface, its publication was in part delayed because international complications raised 'awkward problems of security.' And with its neutral cardboard slipcase, (inc. faded title label), and understated dust jacket, it does have something of a Cold War era vibe. There are seven appendices with technical details, graphs etc - see image of folding-out Spitfire Output graph. Condition (slip case): edges of card are a little wrinkled in places and the title label is suitably tanned, with slightly rusted staples. Condition (dj): intact but very tanned in places, one closed tear; plus fraying at head and tail of the spine (image). Condition (book): navy blue cloth binding with gilt titles along the spine - in a sound state with hints of fading at book and spine edges. A little spotting on the top edge, with a smaller amount on the fore edge. Hints of tanning internally. pp. xiv, 579. 8vo (medium octavo). Please note that, depending on destination, we may request a payment to cover any extra shipping/postage charges. Proceeds to Amnesty International. Abe2605.
