We began in 1979 renting one square foot of a stall in Camden Lock Market. Then by bike from junk shop to junk shop, with laden panniers wobbling through London traffic, to stock outside shelves on a corner of Portobello Road Market. In 1983 the stall and shelves moved indoors to become Gloucester Road Bookshop in South Kensington, which ran until 2010. Since then, we have offered harder-to-find books on many subjects including presentations; literary archives, or the private libraries of authors. While we offer online, we also connect with customers by email.
