Neuware - 'Daisy Princess of Pless' offers a captivating and intimate look into the life of one of the most celebrated socialites of the Edwardian era. Born Mary Theresa Olivia Cornwallis-West, the Princess of Pless became a central figure in European high society following her marriage into the powerful German Hochberg family. This work, edited by Desmond Chapman-Huston, provides a window into the opulence and political intrigue of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, spanning the royal courts of London and the imperial circles of Berlin. The narrative explores the personal struggles and public triumphs of a woman caught between two nations during a period of immense geopolitical upheaval. As a witness to the events leading up to the Great War, the Princess's observations provide invaluable historical context regarding the shifting alliances and tensions between Great Britain and Germany. Readers are treated to a rich portrayal of aristocratic life, filled with grand entertainments, diplomatic maneuvering, and the sincere reflections of a woman navigating the complexities of her status.Highly regarded for its vivid detail and emotional depth, 'Daisy Princess of Pless' remains an essential record of a vanished world. It stands as both a poignant personal memoir and a significant historical document that captures the elegance and the fragility of the pre-war European elite. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it. This work was reproduced from the original artifact, and remains as true to the original work as possible.
