Descripción

Descripción:

Originalverpackt. Art, technology, and society have been intricately connected at Ars Electronica for over forty years, evolving from an experiment in communal politics in 1979 in Linz, Austria, into a prominent festival, prize, museum, and laboratory since 1996. This platform has established itself as a leading forum for media art and discussions on technological culture. The anniversary publication, richly illustrated with texts and an extensive project list, reflects on its journey, emphasizing a focus on the future as it unfolds. Since its inception, Ars Electronica has monitored the digital revolution and its diverse impacts, concentrating on the interplay between art, technology, and society. The annual festival, held from September 5-9, 2019, showcases the results of this artistic and scientific research through a five-day program featuring conferences, discussions, workshops, exhibitions, performances, interventions, and concerts. Collaborating with artists and scientists worldwide, the festival consistently highlights a range of provocative futuristic themes, making it a vital event in the exploration of contemporary cultural trends.
