Neuware - 'The Complete Poems of Lord Alfred Douglas, Including the Light Verse' offers a comprehensive look at the poetic output of one of the most controversial and talented figures of the late Victorian and Edwardian eras. Known for his technical mastery of the sonnet form and his association with the Decadent movement, Lord Alfred Douglas produced a body of work that ranges from the deeply emotional and lyrical to the sharply satirical. This collection brings together his serious poetic endeavors alongside his light verse, showcasing the breadth of his literary skill. The volume highlights Douglas's precision in rhythm and rhyme, features that earned him acclaim as a leading sonneteer of his generation. Readers will find poems that reflect his turbulent personal life and shifting aesthetic values, transitioning from the aestheticism of the 1890s to more structured and traditional themes in his later years. The inclusion of his light verse provides a delightful contrast, revealing a witty and often humorous side to a poet frequently remembered for his gravity and drama. As a significant document of English literary history, this collection remains essential for those interested in the evolution of lyric poetry and the legacy of the Uranian poets. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it. This work was reproduced from the original artifact, and remains as true to the original work as possible. Therefore, you may see the original copyright references, library stamps (as most of these works have been housed in our most important libraries around the world), and other notations in the work. This work is in the public domain in the United States of America, and possibly other nations. Within the United States, you may freely copy and distribute this work, as no entity (individual or corporate) has a copyright on the body of the work.As a reproduction of a historical artifact, this work may contain missing or blurred pages, poor pictures, errant marks, etc. Scholars believe, and we concur, that this work is important enough to be preserved, reproduced, and made generally available to the public.
