Two volumes; 5 1/8 inches x 7 5/8 in. x 2 in. (thick); Volume 1: half-title; frontispiece; title-page with design; preliminary note by John Camden Hotten. 338 pp. Volume 2: notice; fold-out frontispiece; title-page with design. 428 pp. Reproduces the illustrations from the Comic Almanacks (1835-53), both as plates (several are fold-outs), and as in-text illustrations. Bound with dark green morocco leather spines, sides and corner-pieces, with a single rasised band on each spine, below the gilt-lettered titles; with inlaid leather designs on each spine: a figure in 18th century dress, holding a pair of boots, on volume one, and a figure holding a coach whip, on volume two, with green cloth over boards; sewn headbands, red silk bookmarker ribbons bound in each volume, top-edges gilt, light green marbled endpapers. The spines have faded to brown, slight wear to the leather surface on the outer hinges of the covers, with a scratch to the leather, running across the upper front side and corner-piece on the second volume; the page margins show some age-related tanning. Overall, condition is near fine. A bookseller, or former owner has identified the bindings as being: "Kelliegram Bindings", in penciled notes in the front of the volumes. No Kelliegram stamps are present, but they are in the Kelliegram style. Weight: 4 1/2 lbs. Postage is extra on this item. N° de ref. del artículo F-171
