Paperback. The ice is cold. The rivalry is colder. When Mia Reyes returns to the rink at midnight, she's not expecting a collision-with a captain, a past mistake, or a heart that refuses to thaw. Mia is a rising forward haunted by one split-second error that cost her a championship and labeled her reckless. Determined to claw her way back onto the starting line, she trains alone in the hushed hours, sharpening edges and rehearsing the plays that used to come like muscle memory. Midnight practices are supposed to be solitude and redemption-until Griff Thornton, the team's gruff, uncompromising captain, finds her on the ice and stakes his claim on order and authority. He's all discipline, low tolerance for rookies, and an aching need to protect the one thing that keeps his life from unravelling: the team. Griff is a storm in a jersey-intense, focused, and built on a foundation of control that cracks when Mia's fearless style collides with his careful world. He sees the danger in her improvisations but also recognizes a fire he can't ignore. Mia, for her part, mistrusts mentors and shies from trust, yet Griff's unintentional kindness and stubborn presence become a refuge she didn't know she needed. As practices heat up and the season grinds forward, their interactions shift from terse exchanges and clipped warnings to late-night strategy talks, bruised shoulders, and an intimacy neither of them intended to find. Slow-burn chemistry simmers through practices, off-ice conditioning, and whispered confessions in the quiet after the crowd leaves. The locker room becomes a battleground of grumpy defenses and sunshine resilience, where every shared ride home, every scuffed blade, and every unspoken apology pulls them closer. But the stakes are higher than attraction: a looming championship, media scrutiny hungry for drama, and the ghost of Mia's mistake threaten to undo everything they've built. Both must confront old wounds-Mia her fear of costing people everything, Griff his inability to let anyone close-and decide whether a risky play of the heart is worth the potential crash. Collision at Midnight Ice is a high-intensity sports romance packed with slow-burning desire, emotional growth, and hard-earned trust. If you love grumpy x sunshine dynamics, locker-room tension, and a storyline where love is fought for as fiercely as a championship, this is your next must-read. This item is printed on demand.
