Descripción:

The collection assembled by William Done Bushell (see Item Nine), later a senior master at Harrow School. All nine items clear and complete. On aged paper, discoloured by the glue used in mounting. The first eight are printed, and the last is in manuscript. ITEM ONE: 'Classical Tripos. | 1861.' 4to, 1 p. Names the examiners, and those of the students (with colleges), under columns for the first, second and third classes. ITEM TWO: Headed 'List of Honors at the Bachelor of Arts' Commencement, January 26, 1861.' 4to, 1 p. Lists the Moderators and Examiners; with the 93 students (with colleges) numbered downwards under columns for the Wranglers, Senior Optimes and Junior Optimes. Annotated in ink beside the names of sixteen of the students are what would appear to be their marks (Senior Wrangler Aldis of Trinity has 9366, and the last Junior Optimes Tanner of Corpus has 317.) ITEM THREE: 'Summary of the Receipts and Payments on account of the University Chest for the year ending Nov. 3, 1861.' Headed '[Printed for the use of Members of the Senate only and not for publication.]' 4to, 3 pp. Bifolium. Dated 18 December 1861 and signed in type by Geo. Phillips, Vice-Chancellor, W. H. Bateson, J. Power and Arthur Westmorland. ITEM FOUR: 'Classical Tripos. | 1862.' 4to, 1 p. Arranged as in Item One. A few pencil annotations, with '130 marks & Elegiacs 4!!!' in pencil beside the first few entries. ITEM FIVE: 'List of Honors at the Bachelor of Arts' Commencement, January 31, 1863'. 4to, 1 p. Arranged (with 100 students) as in Item Two. Pencil annotations including what would appear to be some marks (from 4492 for the Senior Wrangler to 191 for the hundredth student). ITEM SIX: 'Summary of the Receipts and Payments on account of the University Chest for the year ending Nov. 3, 1864.' 4to, 6 pp. Headed and arranged as Item Three. Dated 15 December 1864, and signed in type by H. W. Cookson, Vice-Chancellor, E. Atkinson, W. M. Snell and J. Lempriere Hammond. ITEM SEVEN: 'List of Honors at the Bachelor of Arts' Commencement, January 28, 1865.' 4to, 1 p. Arranged (with 96 students) as Items Two and Five. Lightly annotated on the recto, and with a pencil list of the number of degrees received by the various colleges on the reverse. ITEM EIGHT: Undated and untitled lithographic plan of the Fitzwilliam Museum, 27 x 20.5 cm, [perhaps an opening, eg.1875 completion] with the names of various University dignitaries placed along what would appear to be the route of a visit by a dignitary through the museum, from the entrance on Trumpington Street to the 'Taj Mehal Room'. Thirty-nine names, from the Chancellor and Chairman at the entrance to the Hon. A. Strutt in the 'Taj Mehal Room. ITEM NINE: Manuscript (4to, 1 p) headed 'List of Honors at the Long Vacation Conclusion. | S. Barthol. Dies. Fest. 1863 | Moderator W. Done Bushell. St. John's College.
