Neuware - Carson Hayes has been a nurse on her unit for eight years, well, twelve if you include the four years she worked as a tech. She knows the unit like the back of her hand, and can take control of any situation. When the long-time charge Nurse Jocelyn gives her notice to leave, Carson knows it's her time to shine. That is, until she finds out that Gavin Tate is the other person being considered. Now, she'll stop at nothing to make sure she outshines him in the interview process. Gavin Tate is infuriatingly relaxed, nothing ever seems to bother him. Maybe that's because everything is handed to him on a silver platter. He's been working in Larkspur for three years now after caring for his mother while she was on hospice. He has aspirations to do bigger and better things and is ready to start quietly advancing his career. When the entire unit, patients included, start asking if he is applying for the charge nurse position, he has to consider his options. An out of town trip for a certification causes their rivalry to take a turn neither of them were expecting. While they planned to try to be civil with one another, somewhere between their proximity to each other, the smell of coconut-lime, and one too many cocktails at dinner, one moment in the hotel hallway has them both feeling a little short of breath. Carson is convinced that Gavin is trying to pull one over on her, but Gavin has some secrets of his own that he's keeping from everyone. Someone call a Code Crush.…
