Forty-one clocks fill Tomas Weiss’s shop. Forty of them keep perfect time.

The last one stopped eleven years ago. At exactly 4:12.

There is nothing wrong with it.

Tomas simply refuses to wind it.

For fifty years, Tomas Weiss has repaired the clocks of Aldermeer. People bring him watches inherited from fathers, mantel clocks that have outlived marriages, and timepieces carrying memories their owners cannot bear to lose.

Tomas can repair almost anything.

Except the moment that stopped his own life.

Then, on a rain-soaked morning, fifteen-year-old Isa walks into his shop carrying everything she owns and asks to become his apprentice.

She has no family. No home she plans to return to. And no patience for the careful silences Tomas has spent eleven years building around himself.

Isa learns quickly. She learns how to find the hidden fault inside a movement, how to listen for what a clock is trying to say, and how patience can coax damaged things back into motion.

But there is one clock Tomas will not let her touch.

The walnut clock behind the counter.

The one frozen at 4:12.

The one that isn't broken.

As master and apprentice begin repairing the broken time of strangers, Isa starts asking the question Tomas has spent more than a decade avoiding:

What happened at twelve minutes past four?

And when the answer finally begins to emerge, both of them must confront a truth no clockmaker can escape.

Some things cannot be restored to what they were.

Some moments cannot be undone.

And sometimes healing doesn't mean turning back the clock.

Sometimes it means learning to live while it keeps ticking.

THE CLOCKMAKER WHO STOPPED TIME is a poignant, quietly uplifting literary novel about grief, guilt, forgiveness, found family, and the courage to begin again.

Perfect for readers who love philosophical fiction, emotionally resonant stories, and beautifully simple novels that leave you thinking long after the final page.

You cannot change the hour that broke you.
But you can decide what happens in the hour that comes next.
