Descripción del artículo del vendedor

Print on Demand. Written by an 8th century scholar, this book is an irreplaceable collection of recipes and guidance for the creation of pigments, inks, varnishes, alloys, and other substances used in a vast array of medieval crafts, from gilding and bookbinding to glassmaking and metalworking. While more than a historical record of medieval technology, the book also offers insights into contemporary alchemical thought in the early Islamic world, particularly regarding the Hellenistic origins of alchemical theory and methods that would go on to shape both medieval and early modern science. This pioneering work by an anonymous scholar would go on to inform subsequent alchemical experimentation, thus profoundly influencing the history of science and technology in the medieval world. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…
