Acerca del autor
A Louisiana-based artist, Leigha Porter, M.Ed, is the founder and artistic director of F.I.R.E. Expressions Performing Arts Conservatory; Co-Creator of The Creole Nutcracker, a southern reimagining of the classic Christmas tale and theater production; as well as incubator and owner of PARC Village, a community arts center and collective space supplying resources and empowering creatives of color.Ms. Porter continues to serve as an arts advocate, arts administrator, movement artist, and cultural architect for the North side of Lafayette-a historically black, economically and culturally under-served community. She is the recipient of numerous awards and honors including the Delta Women in Business Award, Grand Canyon University spotlight, and a featured story in Kreol International Magazine. She spends her time traveling the country teaching master classes and workshops. Leigha hopes to continue to fulfill her mission of celebrating and preserving Black and Creole heritage through an artistic and creative lens.
