Cigarettes For Dinner is a collection of two novellas from KJ Moore—a transgressive meal of humor, grotesque imagery, and surprising tenderness.

Course One: Monster Porn

Mike is a foley artist who traveled from England to work with his friend Dwain—the first foley artist in the porn industry.

On set, Mike finds himself drawn to Chloe, an actress who looks like Marilyn Monroe… if she’d been involved in an industrial accident. The loss of her leg hasn’t stopped Chloe from becoming a top star in Freak Porn.

Inspired by his feelings for her, Mike sets out to bring a touch of artistry to the sleaziest corner of cinema by creating tastefully erotic films featuring abnormally shaped performers.

Dwain, however, sees greater profits on the horizon if they push Freak Porn to its nauseating extreme.

Monster Porn is a disturbing, pitch-black satire of the fetid climate of the porn industry, where ambition rots, art dies, and nothing is too extreme.

Course Two: Dolls

What’s the worst way to be found dead?

How about in an apparent auto-asphyxiation accident, complete with latex gear and gimp mask…?

When Gabe’s friend Ben is discovered in such a situation, the author goes on a drug-fueled adventure to prove that the death was no accident.

Set in the world of deviant sexuality and consensual torture, what Gabe uncovers is nearly beyond comprehension.

Will he catch a killer or lose himself while wading through the most miserable filth this planet can offer.?

Join one of the freshest voices in spec fiction for a darkly comedic noir thriller that would make Orson Welles blush…

KJ Moore writes things that are awful but funny in a different light, and things that are weird and gratifying to mull over. Her stories have big hearts despite appearances, just like her.
