Paperback. What happens when silence becomes too heavy to bear, and the only way forward is through words? Cigarette Butts in a Teacup is a contemporary poetry collection about mental health, love, loss, and the search for meaning in everyday life. Written during pandemic isolation, these poems turn empty office spaces and sleepless nights into an honest look at anxiety, depression, healing, and what it takes to keep going. From the tender vulnerability of "Tender Love" to the crushing weight of "Rattling Depression," each poem captures a moment both personal and universal: the electric anticipation of a first date, the suffocating grip of anxiety, the quiet heroism of choosing to try again. These poems do not offer easy answers or false comfort. They offer recognition: you are not alone in your struggles, and even in the darkest moments there is power in the simple act of continuing. "I hope this collection allows you to connect to a deeper part of yourself and you come away with a desire to allow your emotions to be felt. Here's to growing, building, and becoming, whatever that may look like for you." - Brandon Karl Hoffmann Honest contemporary poetry about mental health, grief, hope, and becoming.
