Martin, Ph.D. "After spending over forty years working with children and families affected by the people Ms. Livingston describes in this book, I only regret that she is just now sharing her thoughts. This would have made a huge difference for me in my work and for the families I served. This is a 'must read' for helpers working in child welfare and juvenile corrections." - Larry Lissman, Director, Strength Based Consulting "Working in the public health world, serving clients and managing staff, we need an extensive tool kit to be successful. We need to understand what motivates individuals to be their best and what to do when relationships and behaviors are not working. I am so excited that Roxanne has written her wisdom down so that a larger community can share the wealth." - Sharon N. Black, Principal, Sharon N. Black Consultants, LLC "With this book, Roxanne Livingston has created what I think will be a most useful product for the understanding and management of a wide range of clinical presentations dealing with disordered thinking, feelings, and behavior. This book is well written and offers a good basic presentation of timely issues as well as vintage thinking of the past. Discussion guides are self-evident and inclusive insuring a continuation of interest in the clinical topic and the end point of clinical understanding. At this point, the therapist may more realistically expect to positively impact the Chronically Hurtful People so prevalent in our society." - Jack M.
