Chasing Light Volume One is a decade of unscripted photography portraits, street documentary, and protest work made across four continents and just as many states of mind.

This is the first volume in an ongoing series, gathering images from the rural roads outside Harare, the streets of London, the sound and color of New Orleans, and the fast pace of New York, alongside an intimate documentation of the Black Lives Matter marches and a closing collection of studio and street portraits. These are not staged photographs. They are moments offered freely a glance, a gesture, the light falling just so and captured by someone who stayed present long enough to notice.

Photographer Phillip Anthony Herring has spent over a decade working under the name Phillip Anthony Portraits, moving fluidly between cinematic portraiture and honest street documentary. Chasing Light is his first photography collection, born from that same instinct that drives all of his work: to pay attention, and to honor what's given.
