Across the planet millions of people are working to create a better world for current and future generations. Yet, while we have less than a generation in which to change course in order to prevent serious ecological collapse, our societies are increasingly polarised and our leadership seemingly unable to effectively chart a new course. 

 

Despite our best efforts, we are failing to create the change we need at the pace necessary within the available window of time for action. 

 

The reason is that our perspectives on what we are doing (and why) are insufficient for the complex issues at hand. 

 

To fix the problems, we must first build the capacity to work from a new and higher order of thinking.

 

Changing The World We Create explains:

• the need for a collective change in perspectives, 
• what specifically are the changes required, and 
• the beginnings of how we can make it happen.

This book is the result of two years collaboration between Tomas Björkman (on the basis of his seminal work The World We Create) and global change agents Mark Drewell and Björn Larsson. It has been designed to be a short, accessible starting point for your journey into new perspectives that will unlock a better future for us all. 

 

There is no guarantee that embracing new perspectives will change the trajectory for humanity. We can however be sure that we will fail, if we do not.

Mark Drewell is an internationally recognised thought and action leader on the development of organisations and leadership for the 21st century. Oxford educated, at the age of 27 he co-created a business community forum in South Africa that was replicated over 4 000 times and became a vital component of the peaceful transition of power to Nelson Mandela. Prior to becoming a partner in the ForeSight Group he was the Founding Chairman and then CEO of the Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative - building a coalition of companies and business schools on all continents focused on developing the next generation of globally responsible business leaders. In his business career he served for a decade on the Executive Committee of Barloworld, a 35,000 employee industrial group with operations in 32 countries. He has also served as board member and chaired the global conferences of the IABC, the professional association of 13 000 business communicators.

Björn Larsson has a background as an economist, journalist and diplomat with experience from Europe, Africa, Asia and the US. He is today CEO of the ForeSight Group, which was founded in 1979 and has worked with some 180 companies and offered 3.5 million employees opportunities to contribute to corporate innovation and renewal. ForeSight ́s entrepreneurial approach - to speed up and leverage the achievements of major ambitions relevant to our times - includes Passionate Investments, which was launched in partnership with the oldest bank in Scandinavia. Passionate Investments was recognized for its innovative approach by President Bill Clinton at a plenary closing of the Clinton Global Initiative AGM in New York. Björn is also a founding member of the Global Impact Investment Network, a member of the Global Advisory Board to SDGs Media for Impact- as well as Future Capital Summits (UN, New York), a fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of the Arts (RSA), UK ,as well as the Aspen Institute, US. Since its inception, he has served as an International Ambassador for The World ́s Children ́s Prize helping it become the world ́s largest empowerment initiative on rights and democracy for the next generation active in over 100 countries. Five Nobel laureates including Nelson Mandela (posthumous) and Joseph Stiglitz are patrons.
