You're here for the 3rd edition of this fantastic Catholic book. In print since 2022, we've honed several areas, bringing clarity and consistency to the content. With a newly designed cover and reworked chapters 5 and 6, you'll be so glad you bought this book.
This is NOT one of those 500-page anxiety books that gives you anxiety just thinking about picking it up.
This easy-to-read 155-page book is purposefully designed and spaced to make it easy for the anxious person, a dyslexic person (like the book's author, Catherine!), slow readers, or readers who want to spend additional time with the material in thought, journaling, prayer, small groups, spiritual direction, or therapy sessions.
No, you're not crazy! Anxiety is a natural response of the body. AND... God gave it to us as a gift to keep us safe! By the end of the book, you'll be thanking God for your anxiety.
This guide aims to help you work through and ultimately understand anxiety from a Catholic perspective. Please be assured that you don't need to be a Catholic to read this; there’s fantastic information for everyone. However, please be aware that there are thoughts, prayers, imagery, strategies, and sentiments that are innately and traditionally Catholic.
This book will help you understand and overcome your anxiety, AND it will also help those wanting to learn how to help loved ones who struggle with anxiety. This guide is ideal for readers of all ages, including children, teenagers, and college students. And, we believe that learning this information and implementing these practices may help decrease suicide, suicidal tendencies/ideations, as well as self-harm and self-abuse.
THE FACTS: countless people quietly suffer through their anxiety, which lies to us and tells us that we are bad or unlovable. This resource educates readers about anxiety and its causes (from a biological standpoint, consistent with both faith and reason) through the Catholic lens, informing the reader that they are created good and are loved by God. This fact cannot be understated.
Here, Catherine has assembled information and a practical plan of action into a guide, offering easy-to-implement tools, strategies, and techniques to help you experience mental wellness. The Catholic Guide Through Anxiety will help you view yourself as an integrated person and open doors to understand what's taking place biologically AND spiritually during the onset of the anxious response, which is the place where most people get stuck in their battle to overcome anxiety.
As an added bonus, the Foreword is written by Fr. John Paul Mary Zeller, MFVA, Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word (EWTN) in Alabama. He writes: "Be assured of my prayers for you. You are not alone. When you bring your anxiety out into the Light, it has less power over you."
Even The Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Joseph experienced anxiety! (See Luke 2:48 “When his parents saw him, they were astonished, and his mother said to him, “Son, why have you done this to us? Your father and I have been looking for you with great anxiety.”)
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Catherine DiNuzzo, MA is a Licensed Professional Counselor in private practice and operates Sacred Heart Mental Wellness, a website with mental health information, resources, assessments, and videos for Catholics who want to live a mentally fit lifestyle. She earned her MA in Counseling and Human Services from the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs. ****** INTERNATIONAL ORDERS ******
****** VERY IMPORTANT! ******
Travel time on International orders via regular parcel post can take up to 8 WEEKS to arrive. It averages 20-30 days, with some packages arriving faster than that, but 35+ day travel time is VERY common and quite normal, and can even be a bit longer if the package is held up in the Customs Department in your country waiting to be cleared for delivery.
The countries that take the longest are....
RUSSIA & UKRAINE (VERY LONG 50 to 60 days, even for PRIORITY MAIL!)
BRAZIL (40-50 days)
ITALY (35-45 days)
GERMANY (25-35 days)
AUSTRALIA (30-40 days of late for some unknown reason, however, this is not normal).
I do thank you for your patience. Airmail times are of course speedier.
