Cat Ninja can protect Metro City―or spend time with the boy who needs him most―but lately he cannot seem to do both. As Octopunch gets the glory and Claude’s nonstop hero duties leave Leon feeling forgotten, Cat Ninja considers retiring for good. Then a pet-control villain begins kidnapping every animal in the city, forcing Claude to discover what truly lies at the heart of a hero.

It’s nonstop crime time in Metro City, and the hero the city needs is… Octopunch? Even an eight-armed avenger can’t keep the streets safe by himself, though, so Cat Ninja’s spending all his time catching crooks―and no time curled up with his family. When he realizes that Leon needs him more than Metro City does, it might be time to hang up the nunchucks. But with a brand-new baddie kidnapping every pest and pet in town, can our hero really afford to cat nap?

Featuring Octopunch, King Crab, Master Hamster, Combat Wombat, Mecha-Mecano, the Howliday Inn, controlled animal armies, pet rescues, family comedy, and ten fast-moving chapters, The Heart of a Hero is a full-color graphic novel about responsibility, adoption, emotional honesty, and fighting for your loved ones.

• Continue the full-color adventures of Claude, Leon, Master Hamster, Octopunch, and the heroes and villains of Metro City in ten chapters in the sixth Cat Ninja collection
• Constant crime alerts keep pulling Claude away from home, leaving Leon to wonder whether Cat Ninja’s duties matter more than their friendship
• Superhero battles, pet-hotel chaos, animal puns, mind-control devices, adoption, and a heartfelt Claude-and-Leon story make this an engaging choice for independent and reluctant readers
• Graphic novel storytelling that keeps young readers ages 9-11 engaged
• A fun blend of comedy, mystery, friendship, and adventure
• Perfect for classroom, school library, and homeschool collections
