Step into the shadow of Framlingham Castle, where history and fiction entwine in an epic saga of power, loyalty, and the unbreakable bonds of friendship.
Set against the rich tapestry of medieval Suffolk, this novel transports readers to an era where the fate of the realm hangs in the balance, and the line between hero and legend is drawn with a sword.
In the heart of this tumultuous landscape, meet Eadric, a nobleman with a strategist's mind and a warrior's heart, and Edward, a jester (who you might recognise) with the wit to influence kings and the courage to face dangers untold.
Together, they navigate the intricate web of court politics, ancient secrets, and a burgeoning revolution that could alter the course of history.
Blending meticulous historical research with thrilling fiction, this novel offers a vivid reimagining of a pivotal period in England's history.
Through battles fought, loyalties tested, and love found, experience a story where the past is brought to life with breath-taking detail and the human spirit shines brightest against the backdrop of adversity.
Dive into a world where the echoes of the past resonate with the struggles and triumphs of the present-a world where every page holds adventure, and the legacy of Suffolk's greatest landmarks is immortalized in legend.
Join Eadric and Edward as they navigate the challenges of life in medieval England, where every decision shapes the future, and the journey to become a hero is just a heartbeat away.
The Castle on the Hill is a rich historical drama filled with danger and betrayal.
You've heard the song, now read the book.

Acerca del autor
Blake Patrick brings nearly three decades of frontline police experience to the literary world. Serving as a bastion of law and order in the UK for 29 years, Blake dedicated his career to the pursuit of justice, not only as a detective unravelling the intricate webs of criminal minds but also as a Family Liaison Officer, providing a compassionate bridge between the force and the families touched by tragedy and crime.
Retiring the badge, Blake has since brandished the pen, channelling years of amassed knowledge, humanity, and street-smart wisdom into writing. Although this passion for storytelling was always a flickering flame throughout their policing career, it has only recently roared to life with the completion and publication of their works. This newfound courage to share stories comes from the very essence of a life spent in service to others and a personal milestone of triumph over the daunting vulnerability of creative expression.
Blake's works are a unique blend of gritty reality and the rich, complex tapestry of human emotion, informed by an intimate understanding of crime's impact on people and society. Each narrative is not only an act of exploration but also a tribute to the resilience of the human spirit, often exploring themes that resonate deeply with readers from all walks of life.
Married for 39 years, Blake's personal life is as rich and fulfilling as their professional one. Together with their spouse, they have nurtured a family that has grown to include two children and three grandchildren, creating a strong, loving foundation that has undoubtedly influenced Blake's writing. Often, it's within the animated discussions and suggestions from these family members that seeds for stories are planted.
Whether it's delving into subjects of personal intrigue or taking up the gauntlet thrown by a family member's curiosity, Blake approaches writing with the same fervour and commitment once reserved for solving cases. Readers can expect a journey through pages that not only enthral but also enlighten, crafted by someone who has not only observed life from the sidelines but has been an active participant in its most challenging arenas.
Blake's books promise to be a sanctuary where the thrill of the chase, the depth of human connection, and the subtleties of life's intricate narratives converge.

Descripción de la tienda
We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first visit or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book.
