Descripción

Rudolf Caracciola, was high among the best known names in motor racing through the 1920s-30s, beginning his career with Mercedes in 1923 and ending with the same team in 1939. However, he did spend the 1932 season with Alfa-Romeo, but returned to Mercedes in 1934. His fist GP victories came in 1926, the last in 1939. He also competed in many TT and Rally events. His autobiography is a revealing one about the pressures, stresses, success and disappointments that are the lot of every motor racing driver, but his are recorded with refreshing candour. The book was initially published in German, followed soon after by this first English translation, by Charles Meisl. It, is undated but probably 1955, the date on the Forward by George Monkhouse. 175 pages including four page listing of the driver's successes, index, 45 b/w photos, many full page. Blue hard covers with silver Mercedes decoration to front and silver spine titles NF, text block NF, no inscriptions. Pictorial/art DJ is price clipped but otherwise VG+ with few tiny chips. A excellent copy of a scarce book. N° de ref. de la librería 003883
