Paperback. "The Canadian Flag Day Book" serves as a comprehensive guide to the symbols, stories, and historical milestones that define the Canadian nation. Authored by W. Everard Edmonds, a noted historian and educator, this work was designed to foster a sense of national pride and historical awareness through the study of the country's heritage. It provides detailed accounts of Canada's constitutional development, the evolution of its national emblems, and the significance of the various flags that have flown over its soil. This volume acts as both a pedagogical tool and a tribute to the spirit of Confederation. It contains a wealth of material suitable for public commemoration and classroom use, including historical sketches of prominent figures, explanations of civic duties, and the origins of Canadian patriotic holidays. By tracing the growth of the Dominion from its colonial roots to its status as a maturing nation, "The Canadian Flag Day Book" offers valuable insights into the cultural and political landscape of Canada during the early twentieth century.Readers will find a curated selection of prose and information that emphasizes the unity and diverse heritage of the provinces. Edmonds' scholarly yet accessible approach makes this a foundational text for anyone interested in the development of Canadian identity and the pedagogical methods used to instill civic virtue in past generations. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
