Neuware - She helped doom the future. Now the past has opened its depths. For readers familiar with the Time Crimes novellas, this volume deepens the consequences set in motion.Ellendyl once worked for the Sylvancrest Time Bureau, a mathematician of impossible pathways. She helped write the equations that shattered time itself-sending her people fleeing into history. For that crime, she was sentenced to death. She escaped thirty-five centuries into the past instead. Now Ellendyl Felhart lives as a dark warrior-mage in an age that should never have known her name. Her magic has changed-grown sharper, less obedient. And when a forbidden depth is breached beneath the Stonespire Mountains, something ancient responds to her presence-not as a spell, but as recognition. As the Gravhal invade Felhart territory with airships, firearms, and iron discipline, war consumes forest and sky. Dragons bleed. The mines fall silent. But beneath the fighting, far below roots and stone, a deeper truth waits.Six miles beneath the earth, Ellendyl and her allies discover a civilization that should not exist-one shaped by darkness, memory, and survival without sunlight. It is not ruins. It is not madness. It is connected to the same nightmare that will one day erase their people from existence. Its people know Ellendyl's name. They know her bloodline. And they know why she was never meant to die. What lives beneath the world does not seek conquest or escape. It seeks continuity-and Ellendyl stands at the point where its future and the surface world finally intersect.Ellendyl understands what happens when history fractures. She helped cause it.But this time, the past is not a refuge. It is layered. It is inhabited. And it is deciding what she is worth.…

Six years ago, fourteen people fled thirty-five centuries into the past to escape the Malloch, a race so powerful that the technology of the future could not stop them. Scattered across the ancient world of Vaelthara, each survivor was left to carve out a new life among civilizations that had forgotten they would one day shape history.
Dr. Kellyn Windstream has done more than survive. She has reunited with family, found love, embraced the ancient magic of her ancestors, and helped awaken a forgotten world. But peace proves fleeting. Her husband has vanished into the Wild Hunt, and another of the fourteen, Ellendyl Felhart, finally emerges after six years of searching. She has crossed hostile forests not to wage war, but to beg for help.
Deep beneath the haunted reaches of Stonespire Thicket, the Felhart Clan faces a mystery that has endured for centuries. The Gravhal, a proud race of master miners, once abandoned a successful invasion of the forest without explanation. Their mountain halls now stand empty, their deepest tunnels shunned even by those who carved them.
Seeking answers, Kellyn and her companions descend into the forgotten world beneath the mountains, where they discover an ancient civilization hidden from history and a darkness that has slept beyond memory.
Some evils are buried for a reason.
And beneath the stone, something has begun listening to the world above.
The Malloch are closer than anyone imagined.
