Cleft Palate Speech Intervention Across the Lifespan is an evidence-based resource for treatment across the lifespan that addresses the communication disorders of children born with cleft palate. Focusing on the speech needs of patients with cleft palate at various ages and stages of development, it includes state of the art information on established and instrumental treatments approaches. Each chapter provides an in-depth discussion of the treatment approach, includes case studies, and explores cultural considerations. There is also a chapter that presents guidelines for a clinician to use in the evaluation of treatment research. Supplementary audio and video files are included to illustrate certain assessment/treatment concepts. While there are books on this topic, these texts are broad and often include a single treatment approach. This book serves as a contemporary update and comprehensive guide for SLPs planning and conducting treatment for patients with cleft palate. This text can also be used in an academic setting as a supplemental text for cleft palate/craniofacial courses or a clinical resource for clinical supervisors and graduate students.
