Amid this chaos, Melody Furukawa recovers from the virus and finds to her horror, her beloved husband Bruce, has contracted the virus and is now confined to a hospital ward where the new "Death Jury" in Colorado, demands Bruce's vivisection in a desperate search for a cure, and also, to not be a drain on the already broken system. Driven by love and sheer determination, Melody exploits a loophole in visiting hours by reading to Bruce from a series of books all night, delaying the vivisection while she grows increasingly exhausted. Her struggle mirrors a Canadian "1001 Arabian Nights", filled with heart-wrenching emotion and the relentless fight to keep hope alive in the face of insurmountable odds of a callous system in a chaotic era. Efectos del desistimiento
