Descripción del artículo del vendedor
[2], 40pp. 8vo. Outer pages a little dusted, without half-title. Disbound. From the library of Michael Foot. ESTC T56867. Sometimes attributed to Daniel Defoe (Moore, Novak), but disputed by Furbank and Owens, Defoe De-Attributions, 319. 'A wholesale attack on the business of the secret 'restraining orders' given to Ormonde during the campaign of 1712, and on the double-dealing of the British with their Allies. It refers to Stanhope's declaration that he could bring documentary evidence to prove British complicity with the French - a fact which seems to date this tract to March 1715. It argues that this proof is all that is lacking to support a charge of high treason against the Tory leaders. The uncompromising severity against the late Harley administration argues against Defoe's authorship.'.
