nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - Greyhound racing conjures images of speed, grace, and tradition. For over a century, these sleek dogs have competed on oval tracks across America, thrilling fans with their agility and lightning-fast runs. Yet beyond the betting and grandeur lies a misunderstood world not often explored. In 'Born to Run', veteran journalist John Smith uncovers the rich history and close-knit community of greyhound racing. Through exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes access, he reveals the inner workings of a sport that many dismissively label as cruel. While candidly examining the ethical debates around racing, Smith captures the deep affection owners and trainers have for their dogs, painting a poignant portrait of the human-canine bond. From the barnyards of Ireland where the sport first thrived, to the rise of modern tracks in Florida and beyond, 'Born to Run' traces how generations of breeders, handlers, and racing dogs shaped this distinct subculture. With vivid profiles, rare archival images, and on-the-ground reportage, Smith unpacks myths and misconceptions, transporting readers trackside for an immersive look at a dynamic sport driven by passion.More than a history, 'Born to Run' is a journey inside kennels, racetracks, and the hearts of a tight-knit community bound by traditions, friendships, and their devotion to an often misunderstood breed. This is the definitive tale of the flying greyhounds who were truly 'Born to Run'.…
