The Bolivar Point Lighthouse

The historic Bolivar Point Lighthouse on the Texas Gulf Coast turns 150 years old in 2022 and is in desperate need of restoration. In words and photos, the history of the lighthouse comes alive in this book of recollections of the lighthouse compiled with a 5 year photographic study of the 117 foot tower. Stories of ancestors saved from the 1900 and 1915 Great Storms, including a letter from a survivor as well as memories of a movie filmed on location are combined with photos showing not only the beauty, but the wear and tear of 150 years facing every storm and hurricane to hit the Texas coast since 1872 and the need for preservation and renovation of this historic Texas landmark
