Jake Warren is doing everything right.
He’s a chiropractic student, overworked, under-slept, and determined to build a future helping people out of pain, one adjustment at a time. His life is simple, clean, and predictable. Until a late-night impulse leads him to a hidden marketplace that shouldn’t exist… and a meal that changes everything.
Lexi Coats lives on the other side of the city, and the law.
By day, she’s a ghost moving through Portland’s streets. By night, she delivers something far more dangerous than drugs: fresh human blood, traded in a tightly controlled underground economy ruled by fear, loyalty, and quiet violence. It’s illegal. It’s lucrative. And it’s the only life she’s known how to survive.
When Jake and Lexi unexpectedly reconnect, linked by a shared past and a dangerous present, their worlds collide. Jake begins experiencing strange surges of strength, clarity, and memory that science can’t explain. Lexi realizes that one careless decision may have put a genuinely good man in the crosshairs of an organization that does not tolerate curiosity… or competition.
As the city’s blood supply tightens and unseen powers shift behind closed doors, Jake must confront what it really means to heal others when the cost may be his own humanity. Lexi must decide how far loyalty extends, and whether she’s willing to break the rules that have kept her alive.
In Blood Rights, morality is blurred, power has a price, and survival depends on knowing which lines should never be crossed… and which ones are worth bleeding for.
Dark, grounded, and emotionally charged, Blood Rights is an urban fantasy thriller about choice, identity, and the quiet dangers hiding beneath modern life.
