He didn't fall because he chose evil. He fell because he chose mercy.
Rathiel was a Warden — one of the Celestial Host's guardian angels, tasked with witnessing the deaths of civilizations without intervening. For three hundred years he watched a species burn. When the last child screamed, he descended. He held her. He wept.
That was enough to lose everything.
The Blood of a Fallen Angel is the story of what Rathiel did with his exile. Stripped of his commission, his wings darkening and broken, he wandered the universe for centuries before accepting a new purpose: the Mercy Journey. Not salvation — he no longer has that authority. But presence. Witness. The laying on of hands for those who cannot be saved, only accompanied.
Armed with Solace — a sword of reckoning he forged from a dead star's core, quenched in his own celestial blood — Rathiel moves from world to world across the galaxy, sitting with the dying, walking among the broken, and fighting whatever darkness feeds on their despair.
This is a story about what it costs to love without the power to fix. About the difference between being forgiven and being restored. About the kind of miracle that no divine court can grant — the one you build yourself, one mercy at a time.
