- Libro 1 de 3: Wealth, power, privilege and the ability to change.
Money, fortune, wealth, billionaire Dave Grant has it all . . . until the shell of his heart cracks open to the misery created by his success.
From the heights of luxury to the depths of poverty, he topples through the truth of inequality, colliding with his beliefs about capitalism, privilege, charity, property and love. Turned out on the street, locked up in prison, starved on the sidewalk, and brought to his knees, Dave Grant crosses the distance between the 1% and the rest of humanity.
As shocking as The Jungle and as liberating as Siddhartha, this novel tackles greed and injustice with unflinching truth and brings the reader to a new understanding of who they are and their relation to all of life.
Inspired by a real story, Billionaire Buddha is a book that you'll never forget.
Our reviewers have been deeply moved:
“Rivera Sun has written a work of inspirational and transformational fiction! Instead of a “rags to riches” story –Billionaire Buddha is a “riches to renewal” journey – reminding us that great wealth doesn’t buy happiness –and is also a barrier to deeper meaning, human connection, and personal liberation. An enjoyable read for one’s heart and soul.”
--Chuck Collins, senior scholar, Institute for Policy Studies, co-founder, Wealth for the Common Good & Patriotic Millionaires; co-author with Bill Gates Sr. of Wealth and Our Commonwealth: Why America Should Tax Inherited Fortunes
"...inspiring a skeptic is no easy task and Rivera Sun manages to do so, as much because of her writing talent as because of her message. To be able to phrase the urges we each have to break through the confines of the selves we have constructed and so thoroughly defended over the course of our lives is no minor accomplishment… and Rivera Sun does so gracefully, convincingly, and admirably."
--Casey Dorman, Author, Editor-in-Chief, Lost Coast Review
"I highly recommend Rivera Sun's Billionaire Buddha. It takes us through the story of a rich man's redemption of soul. I cannot find adequate words to describe the beauty of this story, nor will I attempt to, as the book stands on its own merits, and not any endorsement that any other writer can give."
--Michael Veloff, poet
"People, if you haven't gotten your copy of Billionaire Buddha yet, you are letting a rare opportunity slip through your fingers, It's that good. "
--Burt Kempner, screenwriter, producer and author of children's books
Includes Afterwords by Chuck Collins, Dariel Garner (the inspiration), and Rivera Sun.

Descripción de la tienda
**Please note our transit times are from the date of dispatch.** We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first purchase with us, or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
