The author, a Belgian native, has been judging the Belgian Malinois for over thirty years and remains an ardent promoter of all Belgian breeds. Readers will welcome Dr. Pollet's insightful look at the breed's history in Europe and the United States as well as his thorough examination of the breed's characteristics, breed standard and owning and training requirements. Additionally this volume offers reliable information for new owners seeking to purchase a well-bred Malinois puppy, illustrated with over 130 colour photographs that readers will find informative and attractive. The complete care and training of the breed are discussed as well as proper management of the Malinois's health, in an excellent chapter by veterinarian and author Dr. Lowell Ackermann.
