“Behold your King, before Him lowly bend.” The words of this Christmas carol are familiar to most of us, but how well have we understood the scope of their message? The Christmas season is a time for us to remember that glorious event, the incarnation of our King. But it is also a time of anticipation. In remembering the arrival of our King, we see the beginnings of the fulfillment of God’s promises, that in Jesus Christ, He is reconciling the whole world to Himself (2 Corinthians 5:19).
This daily Advent guide is meant to help God’s people approach the Advent season in a spirit of anticipation, to relive and reflect on the nativity story, and to remember that because of King Jesus, we who were once His enemies are made His friends.
