Combining basic crochet techniques and inexpensive beads, The Beaded Edge reveals the secrets to creating gorgeous edges and embellishments to customize any design. Authors Midori Nishida and CRK Designs gracefully introduce Turkish embroideries and oya in a way that is enticing and accessible to every crafter.

The Beaded Edge offers 18 beaded trims and edgings, ranging from delicate and classic to modern and bold. All of the designs can be created with simple thread, a crochet hook or a beading needle, and beads. Those three tools are all you'll need to bring your embellishments to the next level. Each trim is illustrated with detailed step-by-step instructions and clear diagrams, making sure you don't miss a bead.

These artful edges are paired with a variety of applications, including handbags, hats, parasols, decorations, and many other accessories. The book also includes detailed instructions on attaching trim and obtaining a clean finish, so you can add a beaded edge to just about anything! If you have a passion for embellishments, or just want to spruce up and old pillow or shoulder bad, you will find a treasure trove of new techniques in The Beaded Edge.

Midori Nishida is a professional craft artist. Deeply moved and inspired by the "Turkish Embroideries and Oya Exhibition", she endeavored to create her own line of crafts and introduced Boncuk oya to Japan, adapting it into a more accessible form for crafters. She has continued to study and perfect the art of "beaded edgings" with CRK design, and has built a massive base of loyal fans both in and outside of Japan.

CRK design is a design firm made up of six graphic designers. Their first craft magazine design project opened the door to their career in craft making and design. Today, they do everything from designing and production to book designing.
