Acerca del autor
Kirk L. Hamilton was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1953. He gained his undergraduate (biology/chemistry) and M.Sc. (ecology) degrees from the University of Texas at Arlington. He obtained his Ph.D. at Utah State University under the tutelage of Dr. James A. Gessaman, where he studied incubation physiology of Barn owls. His first post-doctoral position was at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas under the mentorship of Dr. Douglas C. Eaton where he studied epithelial ion transport, specifically, the epithelial sodium channel (ENaC). He then moved to the Department of Physiology at the University of Alabama, Birmingham for additional post-doctoral training under the supervision of the late Dr. Dale J. Benos where he further studied ENaC, and non-specific cation channels. He took his first academic post in the Department of Biology at Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans (1990-1994). He then joined the Department of Physiology at the University of Otago in 1994, and he is currently an Associate Professor. He has focused his research on the molecular physiology and trafficking of potassium channels (specifically KCa3.1). He has published more than 60 papers and book chapters. His research work has been funded by the NIH, American Heart Association, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and Lottery Health Board New Zealand. Dr. Devor and he have been collaborators since 1999. When he not working, he enjoys playing guitar (blues and jazz) and volleyball. Kirk is married to Judith Rodda, a recent Ph.D. graduate in spatial ecology. They have 2 children, Nathan (b. 1995) and Emma (b. 1998).
Daniel C. Devor was born in Vandercook Lake, Michigan in 1961. His education took him through Southampton College of Long Island University, where he studied Marine Biology, before entering SUNY Buffalo for his Ph.D., under the guidance of Dr. Michael E. Duffey. During this time, he studied the role of basolateral potassium channels inregulating transepithelial ion transport. He subsequently did his post-doctoral work at the University of Alabama, Birmingham, under the mentorship of Dr. Raymond A. Frizzell, where he studied both apical CFTR and basolateral KCa3.1 in intestinal and airway epithelia. He joined the University of Pittsburgh faculty in 1995 where he is currently a Professor of Cell Biology. During this time, he has continued to study the regulation, gating and trafficking of KCa3.1 as well as the related family member, KCa2.3, publishing more than 50 papers on these topics. These studies have been funded by the NIH, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, American Heart Association and pharmaceutical industry. When not in the lab, he enjoys photography and growing exotic plants. Dan is married to Catherine Seluga, an elementary school teacher. Derecho legal de desistimiento
Tiene derecho a rescindir este contrato en un plazo de 14 días sin dar ningún motivo.
El periodo de desistimiento vencerá a los 14 días desde que usted, o un tercero que no sea el transportista e indicado por usted, adquiera la posesión física del último bien o del último lote o pieza.
Para ejercer el derecho de desistimiento, complete de forma electrónica y envíe una declaración clara en nuestro sitio web, desde "Mis compras" en "Mi cuenta". Le enviaremos sin demora un acuse de recibo de dicho desistimiento a través de un soporte duradero (por ejemplo, por correo electrónico).
Para cumplir con el plazo de desistimiento, basta con que envíe su comunicación relativa al ejercicio del derecho de desistimiento antes de que venza el periodo de desistimiento.
Efectos del desistimiento
Si rescinde este contrato, le reembolsaremos todos los pagos que hayamos recibido de usted, incluidos los gastos de envío (excepto los gastos adicionales que surjan si elige un tipo de envío que no sea el tipo de envío estándar más económico que ofrecemos).
Podemos hacer una deducción del reembolso por la pérdida de valor de cualquier bien suministrado, si la pérdida es el resultado de una manipulación innecesaria por su parte.
Efectuaremos el reembolso sin demoras indebidas y, a más tardar, 14 días después de que se nos informe de su decisión de rescindir este contrato.
Efectuaremos el reembolso utilizando el mismo medio de pago que utilizó para la transacción inicial, a menos que haya acordado expresamente lo contrario; en cualquier caso, no incurrirá en ningún cargo como resultado de dicho reembolso.
Podremos retener el reembolso hasta que hayamos recibido los bienes o hasta que nos haya presentado una prueba de que los ha devuelto, lo que ocurra primero.
Deberá devolver los bienes o entregarlos a AHA-BUCH GmbH, Einbeck, Germany, sin demoras indebidas y, en cualquier caso, en un plazo máximo de 14 días a partir del día en que nos comunique su desistimiento del presente contrato. El plazo se cumple si devuelve la mercancía antes de que venza el periodo de 14 días. Tendrá que asumir los gastos directos de devolución de los bienes. Usted solo es responsable de la disminución del valor de los bienes como resultado de una manipulación distinta a la necesaria para establecer la naturaleza, las características y el funcionamiento de los bienes.
Excepciones al derecho de desistimiento
El derecho de desistimiento no se aplica a lo siguiente:
- La entrega de periódicos, diarios o revistas, con la excepción de los contratos de suscripción; y
- El suministro de contenido digital que no se proporcione en un soporte tangible (por ejemplo, en un CD o DVD) si, al hacer el pedido, aceptó que podíamos empezar a entregarlo y que no podría desistir una vez iniciada la entrega.
