She came back to decide whether the hotel could survive. She never expected the man who kept it standing to become the reason leaving might finally hurt.
Joanne Chase has spent fourteen years building a life far away from Silver Pine.
Now a failing historic hotel has brought her straight back to Main Street.
The Silver House was once the centre of her mother’s world. Today it is damaged, deeply in debt and running out of time. If Joanne cannot create a viable reopening plan before the winter festival deadline, a corporate leisure group is ready to buy the property and turn one of Silver Pine’s most important landmarks into something the town will never control again.
Then there is Johnny O’Clery.
The stubborn local contractor has spent years quietly keeping the Silver House from collapsing. He knows every broken pipe, unstable floor and hidden repair inside the building.
He also knows far more about Joanne’s family history than he has ever told her.
Their reunion begins with arguments over budgets, safety inspections and decisions made long before Joanne returned. But when a flooded rental forces her into the hotel’s manager flat, living and working beside Johnny becomes dangerously personal.
Then a winter storm traps them together.
Old attraction becomes impossible to dismiss. One kiss becomes rules they struggle to keep. And the man Joanne once wished had asked her to stay is suddenly asking for something much harder.
A real chance.
But buried ownership documents reveal that Joanne’s connection to the Silver House is far deeper than she knew, while a corporate buyer closes in and the town’s future begins depending on choices no one can make for her anymore.
Joanne has spent her entire adult life proving she knows when to walk away.
Saving Silver Pine may require discovering whether staying can be a choice too.
Back to the Main Street is a high heat small town contemporary romance featuring a hometown return, a protective contractor, hotel restoration, forced proximity, snowed in chemistry, old feelings, family secrets, community stakes and a complete happily ever after.
