20 TRUE CRIME CASES, COLD CASES & UNSOLVED MYSTERIES
Some crimes are solved. Some are forgotten. And some refuse to disappear.
Australia has witnessed murders, disappearances and mysteries that have remained unanswered for decades.
THE AUSTRALIAN CASE FILES — VOLUME 2 takes readers inside 20 remarkable Australian criminal cases, exploring the evidence, investigations, forensic breakthroughs, unanswered questions and human stories behind cases that continue to capture public attention.
From notorious murders and mysterious disappearances to unidentified victims and long-running cold cases, these files span generations of Australian criminal history.
Inside, you will encounter cases involving:
- Unsolved murders that have remained open for decades
- Mysterious disappearances that left families searching for answers
- Unidentified victims whose names remained unknown for years
- Historic investigations transformed by modern forensic science
- DNA evidence that reopened old questions
- Witnesses whose memories became crucial decades later
- Suspects, persons of interest and competing investigative theories
- Families who continued searching long after the headlines disappeared
It is about understanding what investigators actually know—and what they do not.
A suspect is not automatically a killer.
An allegation is not a conviction.
A theory is not a fact.
A forensic lead is not necessarily a final answer.
Each case is examined through the lens of evidence, investigation, legal developments and unresolved questions, while keeping the victims and their families at the centre of the story.
Because behind every case file was a real human life.
Behind every headline was a family.
And behind every unanswered question is the possibility that one missing piece of evidence, one forgotten witness, one scientific breakthrough—or one person finally speaking—could change everything.
Twenty case files. Decades of unanswered questions. One question that connects them all:
What really happened?
For readers fascinated by Australian true crime, cold cases, unsolved mysteries, forensic investigation, missing persons and criminal history, this volume offers a detailed journey into some of the cases that Australia has never completely left behind.
The file may grow old.
The evidence may become cold.
But the question remains.
